Hi, I’m Emma! My first experience with filmmaking coincided with the brief existence of the Flip Video camera. Flips were tapeless camcorders that were marketed to first-generation Youtubers. Their throne was swiftly stolen by smartphone cameras, but my sister and I squeezed considerable mileage from our little Flip. We would simultaneously shoot and edit films, deleting takes we didn’t like to create full sequences that lived on the camera. Our longest film was feature-length and produced over several years, so you can see us growing up from one scene to the next. It’s like a flip book of my childhood as an aspiring filmmaker. In college, I drew upon my passion for filmmaking in my studies of journalism and advertising. There, I learned how to take my storytelling abilities and combine them with technical camera, audio, lighting, animating and editing skills in order to create beautiful advertisements and social media campaigns. After a lifetime of creating films, I decided I should take my love for content creation to the next level, so my business partner Sarah and I launched Sundog Visuals to help businesses in our home state advertise and grow!
